Version Control is a useful feature that is rarely found in traditional digital asset management systems.
How Version Control Works Your MarketingPilot Administrator determines whether Version Control is mandatory or optional. If mandatory, MarketingPilot will retain a copy of every version of every file uploaded into its database. Every time a file is changed, MarketingPilot creates a new version. If Version Control is optional, users can decide on an individual file basis if Version Control is needed.
Version Control and Editing-in-Place
Version Control and Editing-in-Place work great together. Every time a user opens a file in MarketingPilot, makes changes and clicks 'Save' a new version is added. Applications like Microsoft Word which have auto-save features will auto-save a copy of the work in process locally so that versions are only created when the user clicks Save.
